Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve been a planner.

My parents say it began as soon as I could read a map. Every car drive, no matter how short, out came the atlas, followed by the limitless different ways, routes, and shortcuts we could take to reach our destination “faster.” Bless my parents and their patience.

As I grew older, planning evolved from charting and navigating my parents’ drives to crafting my four-year college schedule, or planning summer racing trips with my dad to Indiana. I can’t explain why looking ahead or strategizing came naturally to me, but it did. I suppose it only makes sense that I’d try to parlay that into a fulfilling career.

My professional career began as an intern for the local Housing Authority, where I worked off and on as my junior college schedule allowed. In my final stint, I had the opportunity to aid in the processing and approval of new Section 8 voucher recipients. When meeting with these clients, it became clear to me that most of these folks were widows, veterans, or elderly individuals who had been dealt an unfortunate set of circumstances. These were good people who just needed some help.

Seeing the relief and gratitude people had when they were approved set off a lightbulb for me: “What if I could try to help protect people from ending up here in the first place?” And thus, my journey into financial planning began.

I graduated from San Diego State with a BS in Financial Services and a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning. I’ve also earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation and take great pride in being a fiduciary.

I began my career at Powell Financial Group as a paraplanner in 2018, where I was fortunate enough to absorb the collective knowledge and experience of David, Gustavo, and Iris. What started out as facilitating trades and distributions quickly evolved into presenting planning concepts in client meetings and eventually becoming a key member of our firm’s investment committee.

Today, I serve as a Wealth Advisor working closely with individuals and families guiding them through every stage of their financial journey—whether it's creating a solid budget, planning for retirement, managing investments, or preparing for major life events.  There’s only one thing more gratifying to me than helping clients craft their goals—and that’s actually seeing them reach their milestones and succeed beyond their aspirations.

When I’m not working, you can find me outdoors—either at a racetrack (I’m a fourth-generation amateur race car driver!), out on a hike, laying by the pool, or just taking in the beauty of Southern California living. I also love to travel and try to make an annual trip to my parents’ “ranch” in Indiana for the wide-open (and green) spaces.

I split my time between my adopted home of San Diego, where fun and friends are abundant, and my native Camarillo, where my parents, sister, and three dogs (Demi, Rico, and Ladybug) call home.

I’m an incredibly fortunate and lucky guy!
